Rum Cake Facts
Here are some facts about your rich, moist, good to the very last bite, Rum Cake Diva rum cake.
• Your rum cake can be put in the freezer for roughly 6 months, but trust me it will never make it to the freezer. If by some miracle it does, this is what you do:
- Wrap your rum cake in plastic cling wrap twice or put it in a plastic freezer bag then wrap it in aluminum foil and place it in the freezer.
- When removing from the freezer, sit it out and let it thaw to room temperature.
• For a special treat, warm your rum cake in the microwave for about 15-20 seconds and then top with your favorite ice cream.
• There is no wrong time to have rum cake!
- Great with your morning coffee.
- Makes an excellent afternoon snack.
- And, of course, the perfect late night snack.
• Even though this is a rum cake, the alcohol evaporates during the baking of the cake; however, there is rum in the glaze as well.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult your physician before indulging.
• Keep in mind that all of my rum cakes are made with alcohol and although most of the alcohol is burned off during the baking and cooking process, some still remains. Before serving to children, I suggest determining what is best for your family. However, my children grew up eating my rum cake.
• For those who have allergies, all rum cakes have pecans. If you do not want them on your cake, please let us know.
